A conference celebrating the 30th Anniversary of the Adirondack Park Land Use and Development Plan will be held at the Lake Placid Hilton Resort in Lake Placid on October 2nd and 3rd. The conference is sponsored by the Government Law Center of Albany Law School and the New York State Bar Association Environmental and Municipal Law Sections. Participants and presenters will examine the issues, challenges, and successes related to the Plan implementation over the last 30 years, and develop ideas and recommendations for improvement over the next 30 years. Discussions will be focused on the Adirondack Park's environment, people, and economy. Representatives of all levels of government, organizations, advocacy groups, businesses, practitioners, and interested citizens will be in attendance.

Highlighting the conference will be a luncheon address by Governor Pataki on Friday, October 3rd. The Governor will also present awards for contributions to the Adirondack Park to John Dillon, Chairman and CEO of International Paper, for his contributions to the economy, to Clarence Petty for his contributions to the environment, and to Senator Ronald B.
