Annoucement of New PR Director

RAY BROOK, NY - Adirondack Park Agency Chair Ross Whaley announced today that Keith P. McKeever has been appointed to handle public relations for the Agency. Mr. McKeever, whose responsibilities include media relations, public outreach and local government consultation has joined the staff in the Agency’s Ray Brook office.

Chairman Whaley said, “I am pleased to announce Mr. McKeever’s appointment to the Adirondack Park Agency as the Director of Public Relations. Over the past two weeks I have had the opportunity to work with Keith and discovered that we have the right person as PR Director for the Agency. I admire his energy, his willingness to reach out to others, his skill and his commitment to the Adirondack Park. He will serve the citizens of the Adirondacks well as the Agency continues to implement Governor Pataki’s initiative of balancing environmental and economic needs within the Adirondack Park.”

Mr. McKeever recently worked as a Program Administrator with the Governor’s Office for Small Cities (GOSC). While serving with the GOSC, he assisted with press relations and administered community development block grants for the Adirondack region. Previous to Small Cities he was a partner and project manager with the consulting firm Geographic Data Link, LLC. He started his professional career with Rensselaer County as a Planner. He is a graduate of the State University at Plattsburgh where he received a degree in Environmental Science.

“We are very excited that Keith has joined the Agency team,” said Executive Director Dan Fitts. “His background includes solid understanding of community development needs specific to Adirondack communities, strong public outreach skills and a great respect for the natural resources and outdoor recreational opportunities of our Park.”

Mr. McKeever relocated from Grafton, New York to Keene Valley. “I am thrilled to be living inside the Blue Line and very proud to be working for the Adirondack Park Agency. My grandfather instilled a passion for the environment in me when I was a child. This passion has only grown over the years,” said Mr. McKeever.

Keith is an avid outdoorsman who enjoys mountain biking, skiing and is an aspiring “46er”.
