RAY BROOK, NY - The Adirondack Park Agency will hold an informational workshop entitled “Understanding APA Project Jurisdiction.” The presentation is scheduled for December 9th at the Lake Pleasant Central School. It will commence at 7:00 pm and last approximately two hours.
The workshop objective is to familiarize those interested in land use development with Park Agency regulations and the permit process pertaining to private lands within the Adirondack Park. Agency staff will identify projects and critical environmental areas that trigger jurisdiction. Staff will detail the permit process, define land use classification areas and discuss shoreline restrictions. Informational materials including the Adirondack Park Land Use and Development Plan Map will be available.
Town Supervisor and Park Agency Commisioner Mr. Frank Mezzano invites all residents of Hamilton County as well as the general public at large to attend. Commissioner Mezzano said “This workshop is a continuation of the Agency’s public outreach program to better inform our residents regarding the Agency’s jurisdictional role. Working together to assist the public with the permit process we can deter potential violations. I encourage residents to attend and ask questions.”
Lake Pleasant Central School is located on Elm Lake Road. The workshop will take place in the school gymnasium. Agency staff will be available a half hour before the presentation to address specific project inquires.
