RAY BROOK, NY - The Adirondack Park Agency will hold its regularly scheduled monthly meeting on August 12th and 13th at its Ray Brook headquarters. Highlighting this month's meeting is a presentation by the Economic Affairs Committee on the dynamics of Adirondack real estate values. The Agency will also issue a determination on Saratoga County’s appeal of the Agency’s additional information request on the County's emergency communication system and determine the approvability for the NYS Department of Transportation’s proposed bridge construction project in the Town of Jay.
The Full Agency will convene Thursday at 9:00 AM to conduct its regular business.
At 9:15, the Economic Affairs Committee will convene. The Committee will hear a brief presentation by Ellen Rocco of North Country Public Radio regarding their ongoing programs. Highlighting this meeting are presentations from Bill Hotaling, Hamilton County Real Property Tax Director; Barry Miller, Essex County Real Property Tax Director; and Terry Horrocks, an MAI appraiser experienced in the Adirondack Park real estate market, discussing the dynamics of Adirondack real estate values.
At 11:00, the Regulatory Programs Committee will convene for determination of Saratoga County’s appeal of the Agency's additional information request pertaining to the construction of three mountain top radio communication towers that are part of a county-wide emergency services system.
At 1:00, the Regulatory Programs Committee will re-convene to hear three projects. The first is a dredging project located in the Town of Wells, Hamilton County to remove sediment from the bottom of Lake Algonquin to improve navigation and recreation. In the second project, the NYS Department of Transportation proposes construction of a new bridge spanning the East Branch of the Ausable River in the Town of Jay, Essex County. Finally, the Department of Environmental Conservation proposes a Rotenone project to control undesirable fish in Round Pond and Twin Pond.
At 3:00, the Enforcement Committee will meet to discuss a staff proposal to include Enforcement Committee members as facilitators in settlement cases when staff and alleged violators are unable to reach an agreement.
On Friday at 9:00, the Local Government Services Committee will hear a presentation on the status of the Town of Chester’s Local Land Use Program.
At 9:45, the full Agency board will convene to hear committee reports and take actions as appropriate.
The next Agency meeting is scheduled for September 9 and 10, 2004, at the Water’s Edge Inn and Conference Center in Old Forge, New York.
