September Meeting Topics


RAY BROOK, NY - The Adirondack Park Agency will hold its regularly scheduled monthly meeting on September 9 and 10 at the Water’s Edge Inn and Conference Center in Old Forge, NY.

The Full Agency will convene Thursday at 9:00 AM. Supervisor Robert Moore will welcome The Agency to the Town of Webb. Then the Agency will take up a resolution honoring the retirement of Raymond P. Curran, Supervisor of Resource Analysis and Scientific Services.

At 9:15, the Regulatory Programs Committee will convene for determination of three projects. The first, a six-lot subdivision involving wetlands and within ΒΌ mile of a statutorily designated Scenic River, the second project is a variance request from the Town of Elizabethtown for the construction of a boardwalk within the statutory shoreline setback.

At 1:00, the Regulatory Programs Committee will hear a request to renew a general permit authorizing the removal or modification of recently constructed beaver dams or debris in jurisdictional wetlands within the Adirondack Park.

At 2:00, the Interpretive Programs Committee will meet to review Visitor Interpretive Center summer program statistics and hear a briefing regarding ongoing partnerships.

At 3:00, the State Land Committee will hear a reclassification proposal involving State lands in the Rodgers Rock Public Campground Intensive Use Area. The proposal will correct a mapping error involving existing sewer and water infrastructure and camping areas.

On Friday at 9:00, the Legal Affairs Committee will convene for the review and discussion of proposed regulatory language revisions. Specifically, the committee will discuss: involving wetlands, land division along roads or right of ways owned in fee, expansion of non-conforming structures, floor space, hunting and fishing cabins and campgrounds.

At 10:45, the full Agency board will convene to hear committee reports and take actions as appropriate.

The next Agency meeting is scheduled for October 7 and 8, 2004, at Adirondack Park Agency Headquarters in Ray Brook, New York.
