RAY BROOK, NY – Adirondack Park Agency did not approve Saratoga County’s Emergency Communications Towers Project.
Following published news reports in November 4 media articles, the Adirondack Park Agency did not approve the Saratoga County Emergency Communication Towers project yesterday at its regular monthly board meeting. The Park Agency and Saratoga County entered a Stipulation Agreement in an attempt to move the project to the review phase of the application process. The agreement between the County and the Agency states that the contested alternative design questions in the appeal are deemed addressed by the New York State Office for Technology analysis and no further information submissions will be required addressing alternative issues for determining application completeness.
As part of the agreement, the County will provide by November 5 engineering information for road construction, utilities, waste disposal and visual analysis related to the mountain top towers.
The Agency will then have ten working days to determine completeness and initiate project review under the normal project review time clocks. These time clocks include a 60-days time period to determine if issues warrant a public hearing or 90-days from deeming the application complete to make a permit decision.
At this time, the application of the County is not yet before the Agency for a decision on the merits. This agreement moves the process along in that direction.
