UMP Public Comment Reminder


The Adirondack Park Agency is accepting public comments, until March 29th on the Split Rock Mountain Wild Forest unit management plan. This unit is located in the eastern foothills of Essex County, in the Towns of Essex and Westport, along the western shore of Lake Champlain. The planning area encompasses approximately 3,860 acres and contains the largest block of undeveloped, forested shoreline on the New York side of Lake Champlain.

The Adirondack Park Agency Board is scheduled to consider compliance of this Unit Management Plan with the State Land Master Plan at the April Agency meeting scheduled for April 7 and 8. Depending on the amount of comments received, the Agency will consider extending the public comment period. Any written comments received will become part of the public record.
