Ray Brook, NY - The Adirondack Park Agency will hold its regularly scheduled monthly meeting on May 12 and 13 at the Agency’s headquarters in Ray Brook, NY.
The Full Agency will convene at 9:00 on Thursday morning for the Executive Director's report.
At 9:30, the Regulatory Programs Committee will consider a request to send to public hearing a new commercial use activity in the Town of Forestport, Oneida County. The committee will also consider amending a general permit for minor regulated activities in APA-jurisdictional freshwater wetlands to allow for installation of new boardwalks.
At 11:00, the Legal Affairs Committee will provide guidance concerning the removal of rails in the 30-mile railroad corridor from the Tahawus mine facility in Newcomb and running through Essex, Hamilton and Warren Counties.
At 1:00, the Local Government Committee will meet to consider proposed amendments to Agency-approved local land use plans in the Town of Lake George and the Village of Lake George.
At 2:15, the Economic Affairs Committee will hear a panel discussion highlighting the positive impacts of birding on Adirondack communities.
At 3:45, the Full Agency will hear committee reports and take actions as appropriate.
On Friday, May 13, at 9:00 the State Land Committee will meet to determine approvability for reclassifing 2.1 acres of state lands in the Town of Johnsburg, Warren County, from Intensive Use to State Administrative. The Department of Environmental Conservation will provide an overview on the Jessup River Wild Forest Unit Management Plan. Immediately following this discussion the committee will take a field trip to discuss further state land issues.
The next Agency meeting is scheduled for June 9 and 10, 2005, at Adirondack Park Agency Headquarters in Ray Brook, New York.
