RAY BROOK, NY - The public hearing record on the Nextel Project, a project for a cell tower on the east shore of Lake George, closed officially on May 20 with submission of final briefs in the matter by all parties. The matter is expected to be on the Adirondack Park Agency agenda for decision at its July 7-8 meeting. The Agency has not rendered a decision at this time.
The record of the hearing includes 1627 pages of transcripts, exhibits and briefs submitted by each of the parties. Nextel, the Adirondack Council, and the Residents Committee to Protect the Adirondacks, each submitted a brief and a reply brief. Agency staff submitted an initial brief.
The Agency Board must make its decision on this matter based solely on the evidence admitted into the hearing record. The transcript, briefs and important exhibits will be transmitted to Agency members over the next several weeks.
Those interested in the matter can see the file at the Agency offices in Ray Brook and should review all the briefs and evidence to obtain a complete view of the facts and issues that the Agency will consider when it makes its decision.
