June Meeting Topics

RAY BROOK, NY - The Adirondack Park Agency will hold its regularly scheduled monthly meeting on June 9 and 10 at the Agency’s headquarters in Ray Brook, NY.

The Full Agency will convene at 9:00 on Thursday morning to present a resolution, in appreciation of retiring board member, William Kissel. Mr. Kissel, an Agency member since 1999, previously served as Agency Counsel contributing significantly to the development of the Adirondack Park Private Land Use and Development Plan and State Land Master Plan.

At 9:15, the Regulatory Programs Committee will consider the expansion of a preexisting tourist accommodation located in the Village of Lake Placid. The committee will also consider a staff request to initiate the 30-day public comment period required prior to final board approval for three proposed general permits involving regulated activities, which the Agency historically approves with few conditions.

At 11:00, the Enforcement Committee will hear a second reading of the draft policy on Civil Penalty Guidance.

At 1:00, DEC staff will update the State Land Committee on the status of the unit management planning process, Champion easement recreational draft plan and the Lewey Lake and Northampton Campground UMP public release final drafts. The Committee meeting will conclude with an Issues Presentation on the topic of Natural Materials for Bridge Design.

At 3:15, the Enforcement Committee will re-convene to determine a violation involving subdivision of land into substandard size lots without an Agency permit.

On Friday, June 10, at 9:00 the Park Ecology Committee will hear presentations on the Eurasian Watermilfoil Control Program on Upper Saranac Lake and the status of the New York State Invasive Species Task Force.

The Full Committee will convene at 10:30 to hear committee reports and take actions as appropriate. The next Agency meeting is scheduled for July 7 and 8, 2005, at Adirondack Park Agency Headquarters in Ray Brook, New York.
