August Meeting Topics


The Adirondack Park Agency will hold its regularly scheduled monthly meeting on August 11 and 12 at the Lake Pleasant Central School. The school is located on Elm Lake Road in Speculator, NY.

The Full Agency will convene at 9:00 on Thursday morning. Gary O'Rourke, Deputy Supervisor, Town of Lake Pleasant will welcome the agency.

At 9:30, the Regulatory Programs Committee will consider Saratoga County’s emergency communications towers project proposed for the towns of Hadley, Day and Edinburg – Saratoga County. The Committee will also act on five proposed general permits that are intended to expedite certain regulated activities.

At 1:00, the State Land Committee will consider state land master plan compliance for the Wilmington Wild Forest unit management plan and listen to an overview on the Silver Lake Wilderness unit management plan. The committee will also discuss and possibly act on the 2005 State Land Classification package.

At 2:30, the Enforcement Committee will hear a presentation on 2005 enforcement statistics.

At 4:00, the Agency Board will adjourn and conclude the day with an interpretive walk through the Sacandaga River Community Park.

On Friday, August 12, at 9:00 the Local Government Services Committee will convene and take action on proposed zoning amendments for the Town of Day, Saratoga County and the Village of Lake George, Warren County. Both communities have APA approved local land use plans. The Committee will also hear a presentation on the Town of Johnsburg’s comprehensive plan.

The Full Agency will convene at 10:30 to hear committee reports and take actions as appropriate. At this time their will be a status report, on the ongoing enforcement matter, occurring in the town of North Elba, Essex County.

The next Agency meeting is scheduled for September 8-9 at APA headquarters in Ray Brook, NY.
