RAY BROOK, NY – Adirondack Park Agency acknowledges receipt of New York State Ethics Commission Report.
The Adirondack Park Agency received a report from the New York State Ethics Commission last week. The Commission’s report contained two “Notices of Reasonable Cause” for alleged violations of the New York State Public Officers Law - section 74. The allegations relate to outsourcing for software services. The Ethics Commission did not conclude violations occurred, only the appearance of violations. The report recommended the Adirondack Park Agency conduct an internal investigation.
Park Agency Chairman Ross Whaley said, “The Agency will judiciously evaluate the allegations and take appropriate actions. Our investigation will be thorough, taking into consideration the character and work history of those implicated, to ensure the process is fair and impartial.”
The Chairman noted, “No improper contracting was undertaken and the Adirondack Park Agency operates under the highest ethical standards. The Agency has monthly board oversight and is open to public scrutiny in virtually every aspect of its work.”
Agency Chairman Ross Whaley and Executive Director Richard Lefebvre further stated, “Agency staff are dedicated, hard working public servants committed to the Park Agency’s mission of balancing protection for natural resources with the needs of Adirondack communities.”
