Governor’s Office for Small Cities to hold 2007 Grant Workshop

RAY BROOK, NY – Governor’s Office for Small Cities to hold 2007 Grant Workshop at Adirondack Park Agency Headquarters.

On Friday, November 3, from 11:00am to 1:00pm the Adirondack Park Agency will host the Governor’s Office for Small Cities annual North Country Grant Workshop. The Governor's Office for Small Cities administers the Community Development Block Grant Program in New York State. This program provides grants to eligible cities, towns, and villages with a population under 50,000 and counties with a population under 200,000. The program funds affordable housing, economic development and public facilities/services projects.

The Governor’s Office for Small Cities conducts workshops throughout the year to inform representatives of small counties, cities, towns and villages of available funding and to explain the application process. The North Country workshop will take place in the Adirondack Park Agency Boardroom in Ray Brook, NY. The program will begin at 11:00am and conclude at 1:00pm.

This workshop will provide an opportunity for communities to discuss revitalization needs and concepts with the Small Cities staff. In addition, staff informs attendees of program updates, application filing deadlines and procedural modifications in the application process.

Since taking the program over in 2000, the Governor’s Office for Small Cities has funded one hundred and twelve grant applications, in the North Country, for a total of $46,904,615.00 in grant assistance.
