RAY BROOK, NY - The Adirondack Park Agency will hold its regularly scheduled monthly meeting starting on Wednesday, February 7 continuing through Friday, February 9 at The Hotel Saranac in the Village of Saranac Lake, NY. The Agency will accept written public comments on matters before the Board until Tuesday, February 6 at 12:00.

The Full Agency will convene on Wednesday afternoon at 1:00 pm and the Regulatory Programs Committee will begin deliberations on the proposed Adirondack Club and Resort project, 2005-100, at 1:15 with a staff presentation recommending the project proceed to an adjudicatory public hearing. Staff indicates review of the project’s application revealed that most of the criteria in 9 NYCRR §580.2 for determining whether to conduct an adjudicatory hearing are applicable to the project.

The applicant proposes a large-scale residential resort project with a ski center, marina, shooting school, 60-unit inn, 675 single-family and multiple-family residential dwelling units and 24 great camp lots. The project site is located in the Town of Tupper Lake, Franklin County. The site, 6,400± acres, includes lands within the former Big Tupper Ski Area (500± acres), the surrounding Oval Wood Dish landholdings (5,900± acres) and the former McDonald's Marina (1± acre). Most of the site is located east of NYS Route 30, except for the marina and two other small parcels that are west of Route 30. The site includes about 1,800± feet of frontage on Simon Pond and 235± feet on Big Tupper Lake at the marina.

The meeting will adjourn at 4:30 and the Full Agency will re-convene at 9:00 am on Thursday morning for an introduction of the agency’s new wetlands compliance contractors and a resolution honoring Ms. Nellie Staves, who turns 90 years old this month.

At 9:15, the Regulatory Programs Committee will continue discussion of the Adirondack Club and Resort proposal.

At 1:00, the State Land Committee will hear an informational presentation for the Ausable Point Public Campground Intensive Use Area Unit Management Plan. No action will be taken on this plan at this meeting. The committee meeting will conclude with ongoing State Land Master Plan interpretation discussion issues.

At 2:00, the Regulatory Programs Committee will re-convene for continued discussion of the Adirondack Club and Resort proposal. The committee may deliberate till 5:00.

On Friday morning at 9:15 am, Senior Public Information Specialist Andy Flynn will demonstrate the revised Visitor Interpretive Centers’ websites to the Interpretive Programs Committee.

At 10:00, the Regulatory Programs Committee will begin concluding deliberations on the Adirondack Club and Resort proposal. This is the only business before the committee and the committee will use the morning to determine if a motion to the Full Agency, regarding the proposal, is appropriate.

At 12:00, The Full Agency will convene for committee reports and to take actions if necessary.
