RAY BROOK, NY - The Adirondack Park Agency will hold its regularly scheduled monthly meeting on Thursday, June 14 and Friday, June 15 at the Adirondack Park Agency Headquarters in Ray Brook, NY.
The Full Agency will convene on Thursday morning at 9:00AM at which time Acting Executive Director Mark Sengenberger will introduce new staff members.
At 9:15, the State Land Committee will commence with an announcement describing recently prepared terrestrial invasive plant species control guidelines. Next, the Committee will consider State Land Master Plan compliance for the Ausable Point Campground Intensive Use Area followed by discussion on the Watson’s East Triangle Wild Forest Unit Management Plan. The Committee will conclude with review of revisions to the Memorandum of Understanding between the APA and DEC on Implementation of the State Land Master Plan.
At 1:00, the Local Government Services Committee will hear a presentation regarding State Environmental Quality Review Act requirements for Agency consideration for the Town of Johnsburg’s proposed Local Land Use Program. The town is seeking an APA approved local land use program that would result in transfer of jurisdiction from the Park Agency to the Town of Johnsburg for Class B regional projects.
At 2:30, the Administration Committee will receive an update from Robert Kreider, the Agency’s Senior Computer Programmer/Analyst, on Agency plans for web casting. Following Mr. Kreider’s presentation, Administrative Officer Elaine Caldwell will deliver a status report on new staff positions and office space plans.
At 3:30, the Enforcement Committee will convene for a program report. Associate Attorney Paul Van Cott will review enforcement statistics for January to May 2007. To date the enforcement division has closed 137 cases, conducted 120 site visits, prepared and mailed 135 settlement agreements, received 82 signed settlement agreements and opened 183 new cases. Following the program report, the Committee will report the determination rendered for the Darring matter.
On Friday, June 15 at 9:00AM, the Full Agency will come to order for introduction of guests and public comment.
At 9:15, the Interpretive Programs Committee will hear facility manager reports and receive updates on spring/summer programs.
At 9:30, the Regulatory Programs Committee will listen to a presentation from the Department of Transportation regarding continued use of the self-oxidizing, self-weathering steel rustic guide rails. DOT will highlight existing installations, material performance issues and solutions for the future.
At 11:15, The Full Agency will convene for committee reports and to take actions if necessary.
