RAY BROOK, NY - Adirondack Park Agency Economic Affairs Committee to focus on Primary Health Care Issues confronting Adirondack Park Communities.
At the Friday, October 12 Adirondack Park Agency meeting, the Economic Affairs Committee will focus on issues affecting the quality and availability of primary health care services in Adirondack Park communities. The Agency has assembled an expert panel to discuss physician recruitment, medical services and finance matters including current reimbursement rates by private insurers.
Panelists will include: Sandra McGinnis, School of Public Health, Center for Health Workforce Studies, SUNY Albany; John Rugge, M.D., Chief Executive Officer, Hudson Headwaters Health Network; Chandler Ralph, President, Adirondack Medical Center; Barry Gray, Director and Caleb Wistar, Assistant Director, Workforce Development, New York State Department of Health.
Interim Executive Director Mark Sengenberger said, “The APA is discussing primary health care because it is a matter of regional importance for Adirondack Park communities. Working together with stakeholders, the Agency provides a forum to focus attention and help shape park policy to ensure the sustainability of our communities in balance with the protection of the natural resources.”
The meeting will take place at 9:00-10:30am at the Agency’s headquarters in Ray Brook.
