RAY BROOK, NY – The Adirondack Park Agency will hold its regularly scheduled monthly meeting on Thursday, January 10 and Friday, January 11 at the Adirondack Park Agency Headquarters in Ray Brook, NY.
The Full Agency will convene on Thursday morning at 9:00 for the Interim Executive Director’s monthly report.
At 9:15, the Regulatory Programs Committee will consider five projects. The Adirondack Historical Association proposes construction of a new museum referred to as the Adirondack Museum Lake Placid Annex. The building will consist of approximately 8,200 square feet of interior exhibit and related space with additional exterior display space located behind the museum. The proposed project is located on Main Street in the Village of Lake Placid, Essex County. Key issues include visibility and cultural resources.
Placid Gold, LLC proposes the renovation of an abandoned 75-foot by 100-foot, two-story brick laundry building to a three-story (approximately 43 feet in overall height), multiple family dwelling containing 12 rental units. The proposed project is located off Main Street in the Village of Lake Placid, Essex County.
Verizon Wireless proposes two new telecommunications towers to improve telecommunications along the Northway corridor. The proposed towers will exceed 80 feet in height and will include 12 panel antenna arrays and lightning rods. The proposed project sites are located on the east side of County Route 60 (Harrington Hill Road), in the Towns of Warrensburg and Lake George, Warren County and on the west side of County Route 10, in the Town of Lewis, Essex County. Key issues include compliance with towers policy, substantial invisibility, future co-locations, and cumulative impacts.
The committee will break for lunch and reconvene at 1:00 p.m. to consider an eight-lot subdivision on the easterly shoreline of Cranberry Lake. The project is located in the Town of Clifton, St. Lawrence County. Key issues include shoreline impacts including development of steep slopes, erosion and stormwater controls; on-site wastewater treatment systems not in conformance with Agency guidelines; and ownership, development and maintenance of the shared access road and shoreline access lot.
At 2:00, the Enforcement Committee will hear an overview of the 2007 enforcement program accomplishments. Staff will outline a new proactive subdivision enforcement initiative designed to deter subdivision violations. The committee meeting will conclude with a third reading of the Draft Civil Penalty Guidelines.
On Friday, January 11 at 9:00 a.m., the Economic Affairs Committee will follow up on energy discussions initiated by the Park Policy and Planning Committee in 2007.
