RAY BROOK - Local officials from all over the Adirondack Park are invited to a Site Visit and Project Review Workshop in the Town of Bolton on Monday, June 11, 2001 from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Local planning board members and code officers are invited to attend this free training being sponsored by the New York State Department of State and the Adirondack Park Agency. This is a two-part workshop and Code Enforcement Officers who attend this workshop will receive one-hour of in-service credit for participation.
The first part of the workshop will take participants to a site visit and there will be discussion on subjects such as: proposed road locations; reading the slope of the land and other characteristics; how land form and other features can help determine the site layout ; how soils may be suitable for on-site wastewater treatment and more. (Please dress for the field.)
The second part of the workshop will address the basic mechanics of site-plan review and what discretion a local planning board has when reviewing designs.
