RAY BROOK, NY – Adirondack Park Agency Status Update on Cellular Projects in the Adirondack Park.
Status report for cellular carrier projects approved, currently under review or projects submitted but deemed incomplete.
This status update covers only cellular carrier projects and does not include other previously reported telecommunication projects (e.g., radio, television, emergency services, etc.).
A general permit application submitted by T-Mobile, to co-locate six antennas on an existing 237-foot high tower, was approved on July 18, 2008. This project is located in the Town of Ausable, Clinton County. This approved site will provide Northway coverage. The Park Agency received an application from AT&T Mobile on July 15, 2008 to co-locate up to six cellular carriers on a 145-foot tall existing tower. The proposed project is located in the Town of Fine, St. Lawrence County.
The Independent Towers LLC/RCC Atlantic Inc application (Town of Lewis, Essex County) review is ongoing. Staff anticipates presenting the project to the Agency Board at the August 7-8 meeting.
The Verizon cellular applications proposed for the Town of Keene, Essex County and the Town of Wells, Hamilton County remain incomplete. Staff is awaiting required visual analysis.
During the week of July 14, 2008, Agency staff received additional information including visual analysis for Verzion’s proposed tower between Northway exits 32 and 33. This site is located in proximity to Poke-O-Moonshine Mountain. Staff is reviewing for completeness.
