The Adirondack Park Agency will hold its regularly scheduled monthly meeting this Thursday and Friday, November 9th and 10th. The meeting will be highlighted by a panel discussion Friday morning on community economic revitalization efforts in the Johnsburg/North Creek area.
The Agency will convene at 9 a.m. Thursday at its headquarters in Ray Brook to conduct routine business. At 9:15 the Regulatory Programs Committee will review a draft minor permit application shell and handbook and discuss the background of and possible revisions to general conditions contained in Agency permits. The Committee will also determine whether to issue a permit for a proposed clear cut involving wetlands in the Towns of Colton and Clare, St. Lawrence County. At 11 a.m. the Administration Committee will continue discussion of draft policies involving public comment and meeting minutes.
The Local Government Services Committee will convene at 1 p.m. for an initial review of the Town of Chesterfield’s local program, followed by action on local program amendments proposed by the Towns of Arietta, Bolton and Day. The Committee will also receive staff presentations on Class A regional project review in Agency-approved programs and the local land use program amendment process, followed by a discussion of a policy for review and approval of amendments to approved local plans.
At 3:30 the Legal Affairs Committee is expected to approve the Final Generic Environmental Impact Statement and the State Environmental Quality Review findings statement for the initial revisions to portions of Sections 572, 573 and 588 of the Agency’s regulations.
The Agency will resume its meeting on Friday, November 10th, with a meeting of the Economic Affairs Committee. At 9 a.m. Town of Johnsburg Supervisor Bill Thomas will lead a group of panelists from the Town of Johnsburg, North Creek Railway Depot, Warren County Regional Economic Development Corporation and the Olympic Regional Development Authority at Gore Mountain in a discussion of a range of community planning and development initiatives in the Town of Johnsburg and its core hamlet of North Creek. The Agency will then receive and act on the reports of the various committees.
The Agency will next meet at its headquarters in Ray Brook on December 14th and 15th.
