Ray Brook- As of January 29, 2003, the newly adopted Adirondack Park Agency Enforcement process regulations are in effect.
"These new Enforcement regulations are intended to shorten and clarify the Agency’s enforcement processes and provide for a more efficient, effective, and timely disposition of enforcement matters," said APA Chairman James Frenette.
These latest changes are part of an ongoing comprehensive effort to examine and revise Agency regulations for the purposes of clarifying existing regulatory language, simplifying and expediting the delivery of services to the public and introducing more consistency, uniformity and predictability in Agency administration and decision-making.
The changes, involving a complete replacement of Part 581 of the Agency’s regulations, represent the third batch of amendments made to Agency regulations since 1983. Previous sets of changes were made in January 2001, and May 2002, affecting sections of the Agency’s regulations relating to project review, permitting, and definitions.
More information on the regulation changes is available in the January 29, 2003 edition of the NYS State Register, on the Agency’s Web site: www.northnet.org/adirondackparkagency/, or by writing or calling the Agency.
