Ray Brook - In addition to the review of four new projects, Commissioners and Designees will issue three Certificates of Appreciation at this month's Adirondack Park Agency meeting in Ray Brook.

Mary Reardon, an APA Keyboard Specialist, will be recognized on Thursday at 9 a.m. for her participation in handling and adhering to new mailing procedures implemented after the World Trade Center and Pentagon Tragedies. She has handled Agency mail for the past year-and-a-half according to new state and federal guidelines, and Agency Members and Designees will present her with a Certificate of Appreciation in recognition of her additional duties. On Friday, at 10 a.m., Joan Payne and Sue Beck of Adirondack Discoveries will be awarded Certificates of Appreciation by the Agency for their roles and contributions to the Adirondack Park Visitor Interpretive Centers and to the APA. Both women have a long history of donating precious time and energy in order to better interpretive and educational programs throughout the Adirondack Park. On Thursday, Regulatory Programs Committee Members will meet beginning at 9:30 a.m. to review four new projects. The four projects are: A shoreline setback variance request in the Town of Webb in Herkimer County; A subdivision involving several new public/semi-public buildings on area classified as Low Intensity Use and Resource Management in the Town of North Elba in Essex County; Installment of four-panel antennaes in an area classified as Rural Use in the Town of Peru in Clinton County; and, a single family dwelling and private boat storage building in an area classified as Resource Management in the Town of Stony Creek, Warren County.

During the Park Ecology Committee meeting (1 p.m. on Thursday) staff Biologist Mark Rooks will report on wetland delineations in 2002. He will review the number of delineation requests received and the number completed in addition to number of wetland field visits the Agency made.

Facility Managers for the Newcomb and Paul Smith's Visitor Interpretive Centers will give an update on the strategic plan by reviewing program and management goals during the Interpretive Programs Committee meeting at 2p.m. on Thursday.

State Land Committee Members will meet at 3 p.m. on Thursday to consider the Cranberry Lake Public Campground Intensive Use Area Unit Management Plan (UMP) and its compliance with the State Land Master Plan. Members will also receive an informational presentation on a proposed amendment to the Rogers Rock Campground UMP.

Legal/Enforcement Committee members will meet in the Small Conference Room at the Agency at 3 p.m. to discuss the next steps in the Agency's regulatory revision process. They will also review three enforcement cases presented by the Agency's Enforcement Attorney, Paul Van Cott.

On Friday beginning at 9 a.m., the Town of North Elba/Village of Lake Placid Joint Planning Program will make an informational presentation to the Board regarding the new joint town and village program. No action is to be taken.
